Cobb - 2018 Pinot Noir - Sonoma Coast
Overview: In 2017 we released two pinots from Docās Ranch, splitting up the clones between the heritage Calera & Swan and the more traditional French Pommard & 114. While I plan on continuing that moving forward, in 2018 I was so intrigued by this newer vineyard I bottled the Calera and Pommard alone. These wines will be a great benchmark for the site moving forward, and forever hold a place in the history of Cobb Wines. This bottling shouldnāt be missed for all our fellow oenophiles of the world.
Production: 229 cases | Clones: Pommard | Soil: Uplifted Marine Sedimentary | Elevation: 1000ft | Barrels: 30% New French Oak for 22 Months | Whole Cluster: 40%
Tasting Notes: The 2018 Pinot Noir Docās Ranch Vineyard Pommard is sensual, open-knit and so gracious. Bright red cherry fruit, orange peel, spice, mint and sweet pipe tobacco all meld together in a gorgeous, mid-weight Pinot that is so full of immediacy and allure.
Pairing: Chilean Wagyu sirloin
Points:Ā 95, Vinous
Format / ABV:Ā 750 ml/13.2%
