The Dark is a mix of eight-year-old Barbados, Dominican, and Trinidadian column-still rums, as well as a high-ester Jamaican pot still rum, all aged in ex-Bourbon barrels. Ten To One Dark tempers the hogo of the white rum, resulting in a highly ripe, fruit-forward fragrance with notes of banana, caramel, and a mild sweetness. The taste follows suit, with abundant of fruit flavors like banana and pineapple, as well as a surprisingly distinct coconut flavor. On the finish, graham cracker notes and a hint of spice emerge, giving it a Christmas feel, while lingering caramel notes linger on the back end. The finale is given further depth by hints of toasted coconut.
