Nugan Estate Shiraz McLaren Vale (750 ml)
Nugan Estateās McLaren Parish Vineyard Shiraz is sourced from the classic Shiraz region of McLaren Vale in South Australia. According to the winery sheet, once harvested, the parcels were destemmed and chilled, followed by a 48-hour cold soak. Fermentation took place in Vinimatics and static fermenters with manual pump-overs every six hours. After fermentation, the wine remained on skins for an additional two days before being pressed into American and French hogsheads for 14 months of maturation.
The winemaker describes this Shiraz as impenetrable, inky red with a youthful crimson hue, offering brooding aromas of blue and black fruits layered with allspice, cardamom, espresso and earth. The palate is rich and full-flavoured, showing blackberry and bramble fruit melded with earth, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee bean.
